Benjamin, our VAS alumni, has drawn two pictures encouraging all of us to study hard for exams. Do not fail him!

This picture can speak for itself.

The ‘option’ means a sword in the gut.

Also did you know that Left 4 Dead 2 is out today?

okay first of all there’s recently been this rule stating that if we don’t post a drawn picture we’re not allowed to post on the blog. so here’s a shoujo since i’m trying out the style, sort of.

shoujoJust kidding. There isn’t any such rule hahahahaha

anyway this post is about our future activities as well as activities in progress, in chronological order

STUDY GROUP AND PRE-EXAM MEALS

We’re planning on forming our own study groups, going out on saturdays to study. most likely it will be a non-internet place (you all know how studying in places with internet access usually ends up like), and depending on the participants (or rather, where they live) it can range from “crash a seminar room” to “esplanade library” to “changi airport”. As for pre-exam meals it’ll most likely either be on a tuesday or a wednesday, or both, so please state your preferences and reply weiliang’s email ok. we’re trying to get the animu people to partake in our study proposal so that with a good mix of seniors and juniors around hopefully some of your questions will get answered (tough luck for final years though :( )

ART CAMP / CHIONG SESSION

basically once exams end for each of us, it is suggested that we partake in chionging sessions, producing stuff for EOY. to make it more exciting i’m trying to see if we can’t have a stayover (hello hall squatting!) for the final few days where we can party and do coen-ish stuff as a reward for finishing up (so please do finish up). i don’t know how you want to party but i guess that can be decided later. maybe overnight picnic on adm rooftop or something. or you can throw in suggestions, i don’t mind.

actually if you’ve got a good schedule worked out for completing your task you can actually goof around and draw whatever strikes your fancy or engage in art battles (you all can ask jeanny about what it means to turn your art into a weapon ohohoho)

EOY

yeeeah lets gooooo

prerequisite: ART CHIONG SESSION SUCCESSFUL

OTHER EVENTS

i don’t care i’m nominating jeanny to organize and spring out ideas for random stuff that we can do in the holidays that may or may not be related to drawing. JEANNY AT LEAST 4 DAYS OF OUTINGS OKAY

CHALET

now i’m not too sure about the details on this but other than the ghost this ghost that it’ll be fun and that weiliang and denise put alot of effort into it so it can only be good.

(now who’s idea is it with the ghost walk anyway? i’m gonna kill you arrrrrrghghghghhh)

getcha tablets now

today i went to Eight Flags (you know the computer shop at can B there) and found out that they’re selling wacom bamboo tablets (B5 sized) at $179.00. so if you have the money to spare and spend quite some amount of time in front of the computer i highly recommend you get one, plus you’ll be introduced to the WONDERFUL WORLD OF DIGITAL PAINTING sans mouse. plus you dont have to spend time scanning your stuff anymore. how awesome is that?

there’s a cheaper (and smaller, duh) one at about 130 or so, but i recommend you dont get that because B5 is the “standard” imo.

also dont worry, if you get one i’m sure there’re enough people in coen to give you a quick brief on photoshop, how to use it, and etc to get you to a running start.

i’ll admit that using a tablet feels odd, but only for the first hour or so. you’ll be running along fine after that. it’s like learning how to cycle from scratch but with 100x less effort!!!
